For the removal of a single bat, our procedure involves isolating the bat in a designated room. If the removal takes place during daylight and the window is equipped with a screen, we will open the window and turn off the lights. The bat will instinctively cling to the screen in an attempt to escape, allowing us to safely capture and remove it from the premises. In instances where a screen is not available, we will proceed to catch the bat using a specialized net designed to ensure its safety and well-being.
In the case of a bat colony removal, we will conduct a thorough inspection of the property to identify potential entry points. We will then implement exclusion methods that enable the bats to exit while preventing their return. Once all bats have been successfully excluded, we will securely seal the identified entry points to mitigate the risk of future intrusions. Additionally, we will remove any contaminated insulation and replace it to mitigate the potential transmission of zoonotic diseases, such as histoplasmosis.
